Dear Friends,
As we come to the end of this historic year, I’d like to take a moment to personally thank you all for your efforts. You all have been so supportive throughout the cancelation and re-imagination of our signature events, as well as the restructuring of organizational leadership earlier this year.
These issues were certainly minor in the grand scheme of things, especially during COVID-19, but your determination to keep Halloween alive for our community persevered and overcame all obstacles. It cannot go unnoticed that several organizations have followed our lead by hosting reverse parades of their own. We are proud of this and hope that you are, too. Congratulations!
We are filled with hope for the new year. With the vaccine coming soon, it is very likely that the 2021 Halloween Parade will be the first big party after COVID-19. We are excited at the thought but are also trying not to get ahead of ourselves. Everyone’s safety is obviously our #1 priority. We will continue to hope for the best but maintain realistic goals as well.
While COVID-19 has been downright awful, it has also given us some time to update organizational procedures. Starting January 1, 2021, all Full Moon level memberships will run on a calendar basis being valid from January 1 to December 31. Currently, all memberships renew on the anniversary of your join date. As I’m sure you can imagine, this is very difficult to maintain. To that end, all automatic dues payments set up within Pay Pal have been canceled and will need to be updated by you to reflect an annual payment in January if you’d like to continue having your account drafted automatically. Please note that all dues drafted after November 2, 2020, will be applied to 2021. Dues invoices for 2021 will be sent to all members on file who paid prior to November 1, 2020 in the coming weeks so please be on the lookout for that.
Lastly, I am saddened to announce that we must cancel our Nightmare Before Christmas Variety Show. Moving back to Phase II presents too many restrictions in order to pull off a successful show. All ticket holders will be refunded asap. We hope to host this event next year as well.
We wish you a joyous holiday season, a healthy and prosperous 2021, and we hope to see you at our OUTDOOR, MASKED AND SOCIALLY DISTANCED “Roux BOO Gumbo Cook-Off” this January.
Happy Haunting,
Corey Tullier, Founder and President
