From the President
As we reflect on an incredible year of service, I’m proud to share the impact your support made possible in 2024. Together, we set up over 40 costume drop-off locations, gifted 104 costumes to children in Donaldsonville, and provided 353 costumes right here in Baton Rouge. We filled 447 group costume requests, supporting partners like the Big Buddy Program, distributed a whopping 1,000 pounds of candy, and collected 366 pounds of food to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank. We were also able to give 70 Halloween goodie bags to Our Lady of the Lake Children’s Hospital Outpatient Services.
The 2024 Fifolet Halloween Festival was nothing short of spectacular! We kicked things off with a raucous, lively pub crawl featuring an enchanting Wednesday Addams flash mob that truly captured the Halloween spirit. The Halloween Ball was an unforgettable night of pageantry, with King Jeremy Longmire and Queen Amy LeBlanc delivering hauntingly impressive performances. Saturday morning’s 5K run along the fog-draped Mississippi River was both eerie and exhilarating, showcasing the grit of runners decked out in costumes and pumpkins in hand. The Arts Market offered something for everyone, with music, food, and a sweet play area and a gift of Halloween books for our little pumpkins. The blazing sun didn’t stop our Halloween Parade from being a standout event with dancing, candy, and thrills for everyone. We wrapped up the festival with a heartfelt awards brunch, a beautiful reminder of the dedication and camaraderie that make our community so special.
Thanks to your dedication, we’ve made Halloween brighter and more meaningful for countless children and families in our community. As we look to 2025, we’re filled with hope for even greater achievements. On November 1, our new Board of Directors (pictured below) took office and will lead us through another transformative year, serving until October 31, 2025.
We are deeply grateful for each of you in our community and can’t wait to share the journey ahead. Thank you for being part of the 10/31 family.
